A device for storing and applying liquid to a cleaning implement, including an application module which may be slidably engaged to either a countertop reservoir module, or an installed reservoir module. The application module provides an implement support tray with a centrally depressed application well and a hinged lid, a liquid pump configured to be actuated so as to dispense liquid into the application well, and an engagement cylinder which may be slidably received by a reservoir module. The countertop reservoir module includes a liquid reservoir, and a threadably attached reservoir cap. The reservoir cap is configured with an engagement cylinder, providing means to receive application module, and an orifice into the liquid reservoir. The installed reservoir module includes a liquid reservoir, and a threadably attached support tube configured with additional threaded means for attachment through a hole in a surface, whereby the reservoir is positioned below the surface. The support tube is configured with an engagement cylinder providing means to receive application module, and an orifice into the liquid reservoir. Preferably, as supported on the implement support tray, light downward pressure on the center of a sponge will deflect it to contact liquid in the application well, coating a central portion of the sponge bottom surface. Increased pressure will effect slidable motion of the application module relative to the reservoir module, and also effect liquid pump actuation, forcedly impregnating the sponge with liquid. As stored, a sponge is supported directly above the application well in a substantially sealed, light transmitting implement chamber.
A modular device for dispensing liquid comprising:
A modular device for dispensing and applying liquid to a cleaning implement comprising:
The method of claim 17, wherein said cleaning implement further includes a sponge or a brush capable of resting flatly on said implement support tray, and wherein at least a bottom face of said cleaning implement is capable of being deflected by exertion of downward force on a top face of said cleaning implement.
The method of claim 17, wherein repeated actuation of said liquid pump by exerting and releasing downward force on said application module will incrementally raise the level of a bottom fed liquid pool in said application well, creating a preferential situation for dipping fingertips in the liquid pool.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
