With reference to a prior-art curtain traverse rod comprising:
- a tubular rod with a full length slot along the rear surface of said rod;
- one or two master sliders and a multiplicity of curtain carriers slideable in said slot;
- a draw cord system, comprising a multiplicity of cord segments, for moving said master sliders;
- a pulley case, at each end of said rod;
- whereby control cord segments exit the interior of said rod at said pulley case hanging downward and behind the curtain supported by said rod;
- an improvement having short slots in the exterior surface of said rod, and adding attachments, located cooperatively with said short slots, and having pulleys for redirecting said control cord segments frontward and downward as said control cord segments pass from the interior to the exterior of said rod, through said short slots therein, causing said control cord segments to hang downward in front of said rod and said curtain, at any location along the length of said rod.
- (a) Said attachment, being aligned with a short slot, comprises first and second pulleys, rotatably sandwiched between structural means and a leg offset therefrom by spacer means, said structural means being affixed to the rod in a manner not interfering with the free movement of said master sliders and curtain carriers along said full length slot.
- (b) In said attachment, said first pulley, partially projects through said short slot, into the interior of said rod, said second pulley, being in a vertical position, is positioned frontward in relation to the rod.
- (c) Said structural means of said attachment comprises a structure having an essentially vertical section, supporting said second pulley, and a horizontal top flange, and a lower flange supporting said first pulley and means for affixing said structure to said rod.
- (d) Said means for affixing the attachments to said rod comprises an essentially horizontal piece fastened thereto and extending frontward, having fastener means for securing the required number of said attachments to said horizontal piece.
- (e) All elements of said attachments are positioned whereby said control cord segments are led around said first pulleys, passing through the short slots, thence around the second pulleys, with said control cord segment hanging plumb.
- (f) In each of said attachments, said structural means acting cooperatively with said leg and said spacer means confines said control cord segment in close proximity to said first and second pulleys.
