Abstract
In a monitoring device used for the weft thread of a weaving machine, which comprises at least one insertion element having a thread clip movable to a thread-release position, and comprising a weft thread detector, which is used for monitoring the movement of the weft thread and which, during each insertion, is activated only for an observation interval ending at least approximately with the release of the inserted weft thread by the thread clip, an electric sensor (S) is provided in an opening device (B) arranged in the weaving machine and used for opening the thread clip (G) of the insertion element, said sensor (S) responding to the release position of the thread clip with a signal (i) representative of the end of the observation interval.
Claims8
A monitoring device for the weft thread (Y) of a weaving machine (M), in particular a rapier weaving machine or a projectile weaving machine, which comprises at least one mechanical insertion element (2, 3) having a thread clip (G) that is movable to a release position, said monitoring device comprising at least one weft thread detector (D) for monitoring the movement of the weft thread during insertion, and said weft thread detector being, during each insertion, activated for a limited observation interval ending at least approximately with the release of the inserted weft thread (Y) by the thread clip (G), characterized in that an electronic sensor (S) is provided in an opening device (B) arranged in the weaving machine (M) and used for opening the thread clip (G) of the insertion element (3), said electronic sensor (S) responding to the arrival of the thread clip (G) at the release position with a signal (i) representative of the end of the observation interval of the weft thread detector (D).
A monitoring device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the sensor (S) comprises a body (21, 22) which is designed like a tuning fork and which is provided with at least one piezo-ceramic element (25), preferably in the area of a fork prong (22).
A monitoring device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that an amplifier (20) for signal conditioning is provided in the body (21) of the sensor and/or in the signal transmission path (18) for the stop signal (i).
A monitoring device according to at least on of the preceding claims, characterized in that the sensor (S) is connected to the weft thread detector (D), or to the control (MP) of said weft thread detector, or to the control (C) of the weaving machine, via al line (19) or through a wireless connection.
