The present invention relates to a process of treating a carpet by applying a liquid composition onto a carpet using a manually or electrically operated spraying device wherein the composition contains a brightener.

A process of treating a carpet comprising applying a liquid composition onto a carpet using a manually or electrically operated spraying device wherein said composition comprises a brightener, and said spraying device is non-pressurized.
