Method and apparatus for cerating proxy auto-configuration file

A method for creating a proxy auto-configuration file for a system including a plurality of proxy servers, said method comprising:

• accessing and performing a performance test on each of the plurality of proxy servers;
• and
• creating a proxy auto-configuration file in response to said performing, the proxy auto-configuration file including a list of a selected number of best-performing proxy servers among the plurality of proxy servers.

An apparatus for creating a proxy auto-configuration file for a system including a plurality of proxy servers, said apparatus comprising:

• means for accessing and performing a performance test on the plurality of proxy servers;
• and
• means for creating a proxy auto-configuration file in response to said performing.

An apparatus for creating a proxy auto-configuration file for a system including a plurality of proxy servers, said apparatus comprising:

• means for accessing and performing a performance test on each of the plurality of proxy servers;
• and
• means for creating a proxy auto-configuration file in response to said performing, the proxy auto-configuration file including a list of a selected number of best-performing proxy servers among the plurality of proxy servers.

A program storage device readable by a machine, tangibly embodying a program of instructions executable by the machine to perform a method for creating a proxy auto-configuration file for a system including a plurality of proxy servers, said method comprising:

• accessing and performing a performance test on the plurality of proxy servers;
• and
• creating a proxy auto-configuration file in response to said performing.

A program storage device readable by a machine, tangibly embodying a program of instructions executable by the machine to perform a method for creating a proxy auto-configuration file for a system including a plurality of proxy servers, said method comprising:

• accessing and performing a performance test on each of the plurality of proxy servers;
• and
• creating a proxy auto-configuration file in response to said performing, the proxy auto-configuration file including a list of a selected number of best-performing proxy servers among the plurality of proxy servers.
