Abstract
The present invention provides a system and method for enabling viewers of visual media objects to obtain additional information regarding such objects and child objects therein from interactive representations of the objects on a computer network.
Claims46
A method for providing an interactive representation of an object appearing in a visual media object comprising:
- associating a visual media object appearing in a visual media source with a location on a computer network, wherein the visual media object includes a child object,
- allowing a viewer of the visual media object to access the location on the computer network;
- providing an interactive electronic reproduction of at least a portion of the visual media object that includes the child object;
- receiving control input from the viewer selecting the child object from the interactive electronic reproduction;
- and
- displaying information concerning the child object to the viewer in response to the control input.

A method for providing an interactive representation of an object appearing in a visual media object comprising:
- associating a visual media object appearing in a visual media source with one or more files stored in a computer storage medium, wherein the visual media object includes a child object,
- providing an interactive electronic reproduction of at least a portion of the visual media object that includes the child object in response to the execution of at least one file of the one or more files;
- receiving control input to select the child object appearing in the interactive electronic reproduction;
- and
- providing information concerning the child object in response to the control input.
