This invention relates to a method for reducing the incidences and/or the severity of exacerbations of COPD by administering a phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor.

A method for reducing the incidences and/or severity of exacerbations of COPD in a mammal suffering from COPD, the method comprising administering an effective amount of a PDE4 inhibitor to a patient whom is suffering from COPD.
