Apparatus, system and method of double-checking DNS provided IP addresses

A method of double-checking an IP address provided by a DNS server to determine whether the IP address is authentic comprising the steps of:

• requesting the IP address from two or more DNS servers;
• and
• determining that the IP address is authentic if all the contacted DNS servers return the IP address.

A computer program product on a computer readable medium for facilitating communication between a first and second computer systems comprising:

• code means for determining, by the first computer system, whether communication with the second computer system may be compromised;
• and
• code means for generating a notification, if it is determined that the communication may be compromised, that communication with the second computer system may be compromised.

A computer program product on a computer readable medium for double-checking an IP address provided by a DNS server to determine whether the IP address is authentic comprising:

• code means for requesting the IP address from two or more DNS servers;
• and
• code means for determining that the IP address is authentic if all the contacted DNS servers return the IP address.

An apparatus for facilitating communication between a first and second computer systems comprising:

• means for determining whether communication between the first and the second computer system may be compromised;
• and
• means for generating a notification if it is determined that the communication may be compromised.

An apparatus for double-checking an IP address provided by a DNS server to determine whether the IP address is authentic comprising:

• means for requesting the IP address from two or more DNS servers;
• and
• means for determining that the IP address is authentic if all the contacted DNS servers return the IP address.

A first computer system for communicating with a second computer system comprising:

• at least one storage device for storing code data;
• and
• at least one processor for processing the code data to determine whether communication with the second computer system may be compromised, and to generate a notification, if it is determined that the communication may be compromised.

A computer system for double-checking an IP address provided by a DNS server to determine whether the IP address is authentic comprising:

• at least one storage device for storing code data;
• and
• at least one processor for processing the code data to request the IP address from two or more DNS servers, and to determine that the IP address is authentic if all the contacted DNS servers return the IP address.
