Abstract
Methods are provided for the treatment of autoimmune disease, in particular multiphasic autoimmune disease, by administering statins. Of particular interest is the administration of statins during an ongoing disease.

A method of treating a multiphasic autoimmune disease, the method comprising:
- administering an effective dose of a statin to a patient suffering from said multiphasic autoimmune disease;
- wherein the clinical symptoms of said disease are reduced in severity.
