Abstract
An information recording apparatus has an HDD on which data is recorded and an interface for recording the data on the HDD. When recording the data on the HDD, the interface records on the HDD information on an RDI pack required for reproducing the data by a video recording method and information on a navi-pack required for reproducing the data by a video method.

An information recording apparatus comprising:
- a record medium on which data is recorded;
- and
- a recording device which records the data on the record medium, wherein:
- when recording the data on the record medium, the recording device records on the record medium first reproduction control information required for reproducing the data in a first format and second reproduction control information required for reproducing the data in a second format.
An information recording method for recording data on a record medium, the method comprising a recording process for recording on the record medium first reproduction control information required for reproducing the data in a first format and second reproduction control information required for reproducing the data in a second format is included.
