Abstract
A sliding guide rail assembly (20, 20a, 20b) is provided for slidably mounting a drawer or equipment (10) within a cabinet or chassis. The rail (33a) is formed from a sheet metal into a T-shaped section onto which a sliding means (40, 40a, 40b, 40c) fits and slides smoothly thereon. Guides (50, 120, 150, 160) also formed from a sheet metal into C-sections fitting over the sliding means (40,40a,40b,40c) and operable to slide smoothly therewith. This enables the drawer/equipment mounted on the slide (20,20a,20b) to be drawn in and out with little effort or wear and tear.
Claims9
A sliding guide (20) assembly supporting a drawer/equipment for slidably opening and closing within a cabinet or chassis comprising:
- a mounting bracket (30) having at least two flanges, one flange (31) for mounting to a part of said cabinet or chassis, the other flange (33) has its edge formed into a T-rail (33a), and on the central web (36) adjacent said T-rail (33a) are formed a pair of limit stoppers (39);
- a housing (40) having sliding means fitting on said T-rail (33a) and being operable to slide smoothly thereon, with the distance of travel limited between said stopper (39);
- and
- a pull-out guide (50) having a C-section fitting over said slide housing (40) and being operable to slide smoothly therewith between a pair of limit stoppers (51);
- wherein the pull-out guide (50) is attached to the drawer/equipment, and the travel of said slide (20) is given by the total distances between the stoppers on the said T-rail and said pull-out guide minus twice the length of the said housing means.
A sliding guide (20a) assembly supporting a drawer/equipment for slidably opening and closing within a cabinet or chassis comprising:
- a mounting bracket (110) in the form of an L-section having a vertical flange (111) for mounting to a part of said cabinet or chassis and a horizontal flange (115);
- a fixed guide (120) having a pair of limit stoppers (121) and mounted along said horizontal flange (115);
- a first and a second sliding housing means (40a, 40b);
- an intermediate I-rail (140) integrally comprising upper and lower T-rails (33a) and having two pairs of limit stoppers (144,145) adjacent said T-rails (33a);
- and
- a pull-out guide (150) having a pair of limit stoppers (151);
- wherein said first sliding housing means (40a) is being operable to fit and slide smoothly on said lower T-rail (33a) and to fit and slide smoothly within said guide (120) between said stoppers (121,144), whilst the second housing means (40b) is operable to fit and slide on said upper T-rail (33a) and to fit and slide within said guide (150) between said stoppers (145, 151);
- and the travel is given by the total distances between the said stoppers of the said fixed guide, said intermediate I-rail and said pullout guide minus three times the length of said housing means (40a,40b).
A sliding guide (20b) assembly supporting a drawer/equipment for slid ably opening and closing within a cabinet or chassis comprising:
- a mounting bracket (30a) having at least two flanges, one flange (31a) for mounting to a part of said cabinet or chassis;
- the other flange (31b) with its edge formed into a T-rail (33a) and having a pair of limit stoppers (39a) adjacent said T-rail (33a);
- a first sliding housing means (40c) fitting on said T-rail (33a) and being operable to slide smoothly thereon, with the distance of travel limited between said stoppers (39a);
- a pull-out guide (160) in the form of a C-section fitting over said housing means (40c) and being operable to slide smoothly therewith between a pair of stoppers (161), on either or both vertical flanges, said pull-out guide (160) having a further pair of stoppers (162) on the horizontal flange of said pull-out guide (160);
- a second sliding housing means (170) fitting over said pull-out guide (160) and being operable to slide smoothly thereon between said stoppers (162);
- and
- a pull-out guide (180) of C-section having locating means (181,182) and fitting over said second sliding housing means (170) and being operable to slide smoothly therewith between a pair of stoppers (183);
- wherein said pull-out guide (180) is attached at the bottom of said drawer by said locating means (181,182), and the travel of the slide is given by the total distances between the said stoppers of the said T-rail and said pull-out guides minus the lengths of said housing means (40c, 170).
The sliding guide assembly according to anyone of the preceding claims, wherein the mounting brackets (30,110, 30a) are formed from a sheet metal.
The sliding guide assembly according to anyone of the preceding claims, wherein the guides (50, 120, 150, 160, 180) are formed from a sheet metal.
The sliding guide assembly according to anyone of the preceding claims, wherein the pull-out slide rail (140) is formed from a sheet metal.
The sliding guide assembly according to anyone of the preceding claims, wherein the T-rail (33a) has flanges of equal width on both sides of the central web (36,143,31b).
