Abstract
A connecting assembly for connecting to a fluid conduit in a fluid transfer system includes a ferrule-type connector having a first open end and a second open end. The first open end of the connector is operable to receive a fluid conduit therein. The second open end of the connector is operable to receive a washer and a flexible hose therein. The washer preferably has a concave cross-section and a central aperture receiving the fluid conduit to secure the connector to the fluid conduit when the washer is press-fit in the second open end of the connector and onto the fluid conduit.
Claims7
A connecting assembly for connecting to a fluid conduit in a fluid transfer system, the fluid conduit having an open end to be connected and an outside diameter, the open end of the fluid conduit operable to receive a flexible hose, said assembly comprising:
- a washer having an aperture and an outside diameter, said aperture of said washer being sized to receive the outside diameter of the fluid conduit;
- and
- a connector having a first open end and a second open end, said first open end of said connector operable to receive the open end of the fluid conduit, the open end of the fluid conduit extending into said second open end of said connector, said second open end of said connector having an inner diameter sized to receive said washer, said outside diameter of said washer being sized to be received in said second open end of said connector,
- whereby when said first open end of said connector receives the open end of the fluid conduit and said second open end of said connector receives said washer, and said washer is press-fit onto the fluid conduit and into said second open end of said connector, said washer secures said connector to the fluid conduit and prevents any lateral movement between said connector and the fluid conduit.
A connecting assembly for a hydraulic braking system, comprising:
- a brake pipe having an open end to be connected and an outside diameter;
- a brake hose having an open end, said open end of said brake pipe being received in said open end of said brake hose;
- a washer having a concave cross-section, an aperture formed therein and an outside diameter, said aperture of said washer receiving said outside diameter of said brake pipe;
- and
- a connector having a first open end and a second open end, said first open end of said connector receiving said open end of said brake pipe, said open end of said brake pipe extending into said second open end of said connector, said second open end of said connector receiving said washer and said brake hose, said washer being press-fit into said second open end of said connector and onto said outside diameter of said brake pipe thereby securing said connector to said brake pipe and preventing any lateral movement between said connector and said brake pipe, and when said second open end of said connector receives said brake hose, said second open end is crimped and secures said connector to said brake hose.
