Abstract

A data processing apparatus, which can prevent a reduction of the number of persons accommodated in shop, and can be used as a terminal for realizing an environment capable of using a communication network such as Internet and the like. A data processing apparatus 100 has an external appearance such that a plate-shaped main body 101 is supported by two legs 101. An upper surface of the main body 101 is provided with a flat plate 103 covering the entire surface of the main body 101, and a lower side of the flat plate 103 is provided with a display device 104 having display screens 104a and 104b facing the flat plate 103. Further, the main body 101 is mounted with various devices such as an input device 105 and a pointing device 106 so that the data processing apparatus 100 can be used as a terminal for making a connection with a communication network.
