Abstract
A multi-array spatial light modulating (SLM) device and methods of fabricating such a device. The multi-array SLM device includes a number of addressable arrays of elements, and each of the addressable arrays is capable of modulating light to generate an image.
Claims129
A device comprising:
- a number of addressable arrays of elements disposed on a substrate, each of the number of addressable arrays of elements to modulate light;
- and
- a plurality of buffer regions, each of the buffer regions disposed between neighboring addressable arrays of the number of addressable arrays.
A method comprising:
- forming a number of addressable arrays of elements on a substrate, each of the number of addressable arrays of elements to modulate light;
- and
- providing a plurality of buffer regions, each of the buffer regions disposed between neighboring addressable arrays of the number of addressable. arrays.
An assembly comprising:
- a substrate;
- a first device disposed on the substrate, the first device including an addressable array of elements to modulate light;
- a second device disposed on the substrate, the second device including an addressable array of elements to modulate light;
- and
- a third device disposed on the substrate, the third device including an addressable array of elements to modulate light.

A method comprising:
- attaching a first device to a substrate, the first device including an addressable array of elements to modulate light;
- attaching a second device to the substrate, the second device including an addressable array of elements to modulate light;
- and
- attaching a third device to the substrate, the third device including an addressable array of elements to modulate light.
1 more element
A device comprising:
- an addressable array of elements disposed on a substrate, the addressable array of elements segmented into a number of subarrays, each of the subarrays capable of modulating light to generate an image having an aspect ratio;
- wherein the images of the number of subarrays can be combined to form a single image having the aspect ratio.
A method comprising:
- segmenting an addressable array of elements of a device into a number of subarrays, each of the subarrays capable of modulating light to generate an image having an aspect ratio;
- wherein the images of the number of subarrays can be combined to form a single image having the aspect ratio.
A method comprising:
- forming an addressable array of elements on a substrate, the addressable array being sized such that the addressable array is dividable into a number of subarrays, each of the subarrays capable of modulating light to generate an image of a specified aspect ratio;
- wherein the images of the number of subarrays can be combined to form a single image having the specified aspect ratio, the specified aspect ratio comprising one of 16:9, 4:3, and 5:4.
An assembly comprising:
- a substrate;
- a first device disposed on the substrate, the first device having an addressable array of elements to modulate light;
- and
- a second device disposed on the substrate, the second device including
- a number of addressable arrays of elements, each of the number of addressable arrays of elements to modulate light, and
- a plurality of buffer regions, each of the buffer regions disposed between neighboring addressable arrays of the number of addressable arrays.
