Abstract
The invention is a liquid-phase process for epoxidizing olefins with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a non-zeolitic, supported niobium oxide catalyst comprising niobium oxide and a support. The process exhibits good productivity and selectivity for olefin epoxidation with hydrogen peroxide.
Claims18
A process for producing an epoxide comprising reacting an olefin and hydrogen peroxide in a solvent in the presence of a non-zeolitic, supported niobium oxide catalyst comprising niobium oxide and a support.
A process for producing propylene oxide comprising reacting propylene and hydrogen peroxide in an oxygenated solvent in the presence of a non-zeolitic, supported niobium oxide catalyst comprising niobium oxide and silica.
