Abstract
The present invention relates to novel human BMP polypeptides and isolated nucleic acids containing the coding regions of the genes encoding such polypeptides. Also provided are vectors, host cells, antibodies, and recombinant methods for producing human BMP polypeptides. The invention further relates to diagnostic and therapeutic methods useful for diagnosing and treating disorders related to these novel human BMP polypeptides.
Claims42
An isolated polypeptide comprising a first amino acid sequence at least 90% identical to a second amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- Y;
- (b) the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide encoded by cDNA clone ID:
- V;
- (c) the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- Y minus the signal sequence;
- (d) the amino acid sequence of the propeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- Y shown in Table 2;
- (e) the amino acid sequence of the mature (secreted) polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:
- Y shown in Table 2 or FIG. 2;
- and
- (f) one or more cysteine rich regions of the polypeptide SEQ ID NO:
- Y shown in FIGS. 1A-Q and 2.
