Cleaning system for animal litter and bedding

A method of cleaning contaminated horse bedding, the method comprising:

• removing contaminated horse bedding from a horse stall;
• passing the contaminated horse bedding through an air stream;
• separating contaminants from the horse bedding in the air stream.

A method of cleaning absorbent animal litter having a predetermined density, the method comprising air vacuuming the animal litter with a sufficient vacuum force to remove contaminants from the animal litter but not remove the animal litter.

An animal litter cleaning system comprising:

• a first air pressure motor operating at a first power level and configured to generate a first air stream toward a turbulence zone;
• a second air pressure motor operating at a second power level different from the first power level and configured to generate a second air stream away from the turbulence zone simultaneous with the first air pressure motor generating the first air stream toward the turbulence zone;
• wherein simultaneous operation of the first and second air pressure motors generates air turbulence within the turbulence zone sufficient to separate contaminants from animal litter to draw the contaminants away from the turbulence zone in the second air stream, but allow the animal litter to separate from the air streams by gravity separation.
