Abstract
The present invention relates to uses of PAF-AH products to prevent or slow the progression of diabetes, particularly insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.
Claims10
A method for preventing diabetes mellitus comprising the step of administering to a subject at risk of developing diabetes mellitus an amount of a PAF-AH product effective to prevent diabetes mellitus.
A method of slowing the progression of diabetes mellitus comprising the step of administering to a subject with diabetes mellitus a PAF-AH product in an amount effective to prevent further destruction of insulin-secreting pancreatic islet cells.
