Abstract
A negotiable instrument payee authentication and identification method in which payee identification information is printed onto the negotiable instrument and maintained in a computerized database. When the payee presents the negotiable instrument for cashing, the identification information contained within the database is recalled and compared to the identification information contained on the printed negotiable instrument to ensure conformity.
Claims19
A method of authenticating the payee printed on a negotiable instrument, comprising the steps of:
- storing the identification information of the payee in a central computer system thereby creating stored identification information;
- recalling said stored identification information;
- and
- affixing said stored identification information on said negotiable instrument thereby creating affixed identification information.
