Explosion resistant waste container

An explosion resistant waste container comprising:

• an outer open-topped container;
• an inner open-topped container placed within said outer open-topped container;
• at least one positioning element providing for a space between said outer open-topped container and said inner open-topped container;
• and
• a reinforced concrete material disposed in said space between said outer open-topped container and said inner open-topped container, said reinforced concrete material and said outer open-topped container reinforcing said inner open-topped container.

A method for manufacturing an explosion resistant waste container, the method comprising the steps of:

• forming an inner open-topped container;
• forming an outer open-topped container sized to receive said inner open-topped container leaving a space therebetween;
• positioning said inner open-topped container within said outer open-topped container;
• and
• inserting a reinforcing material within said space between said outer open-topped container and said inner open-topped container.
