A process using an aqueous or non-aqueous solution or dispersion comprising an aqueous or non-aqueous solution or dispersion of a polythiophene or thiophene copolymer, obtainable by a process for preparing an aqueous or non-aqueous solution or dispersion of a polythiophene or thiophene copolymer, containing structural units according to formula (I):
