An extended-release tablet comprising felodipine, a non-ionic surfactant, and a release-controlling excipient, wherein the amount of surfactant is more than 0.01 part but less than 1.0 part per part felodipine by weight, when made by a process comprising the steps of dissolving the felodipine and surfactant in organic solvent to form a solution, drying to evaporate the solvent, and further processing the dried material into tablets.
