Chemical analysis apparatus and genetic diagnostic apparatus

A chemical analysis apparatus comprising a rotatably supported structural member, the structural member comprising a captor for capturing a specific chemical substance in a sample, and a plurality of reagent containers for carrying fluids to be passed through the captor, the apparatus further comprising:

• an eluting solution carrier for carrying an eluting solution after the specific chemical substance has been eluted from the captor;
• a waste liquid disposal passage for disposing of liquids other than the eluting solution from the eluting solution carrier;
• and
• an eluting solution disposal passage for disposing of part of the eluting solution from the eluting solution carrier,
• wherein a connecting portion between the eluting solution carrier and the eluting solution disposal passage is located more towards the periphery than an innermost portion of the eluting solution disposal passage.

A chemical analysis apparatus comprising a rotatably supported structural member, the structural member comprising a captor for capturing a specific chemical substance in a sample, and a plurality of reagent containers for carrying fluids to be passed through the captor, the apparatus further comprising:

• an eluting solution carrier for carrying an eluting solution after the specific chemical substance has been eluted from the captor;
• and
• a detection reagent supply passage for supplying a detection reagent to the eluting solution carrier,
• wherein a connecting portion between the eluting solution carrier and the detection reagent supply passage is located more towards the center of rotation than an innermost portion of the eluting solution disposal passage.

A chemical analysis apparatus comprising a rotatably supported structural member, the structural member comprising a captor for capturing a specific chemical substance in a sample, and a plurality of reagent containers for carrying fluids to be passed through the captor, the apparatus further comprising:

• an eluting solution carrier for carrying an eluting solution after the specific chemical substance has been eluted from the captor;
• and
• a detection reagent container for supplying a detection reagent to the eluting solution carrier,
• wherein a detection reagent controller for controlling the flow of the detection reagent is located upstream of a detection reagent outlet for supplying the detection reagent to the eluting solution carrier, and an eluting solution disposal passage for disposing of part of the eluting solution from the eluting solution carrier is provided, wherein the detection reagent is caused to flow to the eluting solution carrier after part of the eluting solution has been disposed from the eluting solution disposal passage.

A chemical analysis apparatus comprising a rotatably supported structural member, the structural member comprising a captor for capturing a specific chemical substance in a sample, and a plurality of reagent containers for carrying liquids to be passed through the captor, the apparatus further comprising:

• an eluting solution carrier for carrying an eluting solution that has passed through the captor;
• and
• a flow passage for the flow of the solution from the eluting solution carrier,
• wherein a flow passage entrance connecting the eluting solution carrier and the flow passage is located more towards the center of rotation than a flow passage exit on another end of the flow passage,
• wherein after the reagent that has passed through the captor during the rotation of the rotary structural member flowed through the flow passage, the rotary structural member is stopped, rotated again, and then stopped again, and thereafter the eluting solution is caused to pass through the captor.

A chemical analysis apparatus comprising a rotatably supported structural member, the structural member comprising a captor for capturing a specific chemical substance in a sample, and a plurality of reagent containers for carrying liquids to be passed through the captor,

• wherein the structural member comprises:
• a sample supply portion;
• a separating portion formed downstream of the supply portion, wherein the sample from which the sample component has been separated by centrifugation remains in the separating portion;
• a mixing portion where a first component of the separated sample flows and is mixed with a first portion of the sample;
• a first flow passage connected to a first captor for capturing a first chemical substance in the sample;
• a second mixing portion branching from between the supply portion and the separating portion for mixing with a second portion of the sample;
• and
• a second flow passage connected to a second captor for capturing a second chemical substance in the sample.

A chemical analysis method comprising:

• supplying blood to a rotary structural member comprising a captor for capturing a nucleic acid and a plurality of reagent containers carrying reagents to be supplied to the capturing member;
• separating the sample component from the sample by centrifugation after the supplied sample flowed to a separating portion located downstream of the supply portion;
• a first capturing step of capturing a first chemical substance in the sample with a first captor after a first component of the separated sample has flowed downstream;
• and
• a second capturing step of capturing a second chemical substance in the sample after a sample separated from the sample that had flowed to the separating portion flowed to a second captor,
• wherein the first and second capturing steps are carried out by a first rotation of the rotary structural member.

A blood analysis method comprising:

• supplying blood to a rotary structural member comprising a capturing member for capturing the nucleic acid, and a plurality of reagent container carrying reagents to be supplied to the captor;
• causing the supplied blood to flow to a first passage;
• separating blood serum;
• treating the separated blood serum with the reagents;
• capturing vial nucleic acids from the treated blood serum;
• eluting and analyzing the captured nucleic acids;
• causing the supplied blood to branch off from the first passage;
• lysing white blood cells;
• capturing nucleic acids in a specimen from the lysed white blood cells with a second captor;
• and
• eluting and analyzing the captured nucleic acids,
• wherein the capturing of the nucleic acids in the virus and the nucleic acids in the specimen is carried out by a first rotation of the rotary structural member, and wherein an eluting solution is supplied to the nucleic acids in the virus and to the nucleic acids in the specimen by a second rotation of the structural member.
