Abstract
A method for the immobilisation of a radioactive anion on the surface of a metal substrate, said method comprising treating the substrate with an oxidising agent in the presence of a solution of a radioactive anion which forms an insoluble salt with ions of said metal. Preferably, a binding agent will also be present. Preferably, the metal is silver, the radioactive anion is 125I− and the binding agent comprises bromide ions.
Claims20
A method for the immobilisation of a radioisotope on the metal surface of a substrate, said method comprising treating the substrate with an oxidising agent in the presence of a source of a radioactive anion wherein the oxidising agent is capable of oxidising the metal to the corresponding metal ion, and the radioactive anion is capable of forming an insoluble salt with said metal cation.
