Abstract
A identification system comprising at least one non-volatile memory device containing identification data, a communication bus for the memory device that is independent of any other system bus, and a controller to manage the integrity of the identification data.
Claims31
A system comprising:
- a non-volatile memory device containing identification data;
- a communication bus for the memory device that is independent of any other system bus;
- and
- a controller to manage the integrity of the identification data.
1 more element
A method comprising:
- reading identification data from a first non-volatile memory device located on an independent bus;
- checking whether the identification data from the first device is valid;
- reading identification data from a second non-volatile memory device located on an independent bus;
- checking whether the identification data from the second device is valid;
- and
- if data from the first device is not valid and data from the second device is valid, copying identification data from the second to the first device.
3 more elements
A system comprising the following:
- a plurality of storage means for saving redundant identification data;
- a plurality of communication means coupled to the storage means for reading from and writing to the storage means, each one of the plurality of communication means independently communicating with a corresponding one of the plurality of storage means;
- and
- management means coupled to the communications means for managing the integrity of the redundant identification data.
1 more element
A method comprising:
- reading redundant identification data from a non-volatile memory device coupled to an independent communication bus;
- and
- managing the identification data read from the first memory device and checking whether it is valid.
