Liquid crystal display device having drive circuit

A liquid crystal display device comprising:

• a first substrate;
• a second substrate;
• a liquid crystal composition which is sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate;
• a plurality of pixel electrodes which are formed on the first substrate;
• switching elements which supply video signals to the pixel electrodes;
• video signal lines which supply video signals to the switching elements;
• scanning signal lines which supply scanning signals which control the switching elements;
• a first drive circuit which is formed on the first substrate;
• a second drive circuit which is connected to the first substrate after forming the switching elements;
• and
• holding capacitive elements which are formed on the first substrate, wherein
• the first drive circuit is connected to the plurality of video signal lines such that signals can be supplied from the first drive circuit to the video signal lines;
• and
• the second drive circuit includes a booster circuit.

A liquid crystal display device comprising:

• a first substrate;
• a second substrate;
• a liquid crystal composition which is sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate;
• a plurality of pixel electrodes which are formed on the first substrate;
• switching elements which supply video signals to the pixel electrodes;
• video signal lines which supply video signals to the switching elements;
• scanning signal lines which supply scanning signals which control the switching elements;
• a first drive circuit which is formed on the first substrate;
• holding capacitive elements which are formed on the first substrate, and
• a power source circuit which supplies voltages to the holding capacitive elements, wherein
• the first drive circuit is connected to the plurality of video signal lines such that signals can be supplied from the first drive circuit to the video signal lines;
• and
• the power source circuit is configured to supply control signals having a voltage higher than a voltage which sets the switching elements to an ON state.
