System and methods for access control utilizing two factors to control access

A method for access control comprising the steps of:

• receiving a biometric signal from a biometric reader;
• extracting biometric data from said biometric signal;
• transmitting said extracted biometric data to a matching system;
• matching said extracted biometric data with predetermined data;
• generating a match result signal;
• transmitting said match result signal to a Wiegand access control panel;
• and
• controlling access to an accessed system with said Wiegand access control panel based on said match result signal.

A method for controlling access comprising the steps of:

• reading and extracting live biometric data;
• receiving an input signal;
• accessing stored biometric data stored in a memory based on said input signal;
• comparing said extracted biometric data with said stored biometric data;
• generating a comparison result and transmitting said comparison result to a Wiegand access control panel;
• and
• controlling access to an accessed system with said Wiegand access control panel based on said comparison result.

A method for controlling access comprising the steps of:

• reading and extracting biometric data;
• comparing said extracted biometric data with biometric data for a plurality of individuals stored in a memory to determine if said extracted biometric data matches one of said plurality of individuals stored biometric data;
• generating an ID biometric signal if said extracted biometric data matches said one of said plurality of individuals stored biometric data;
• transmitting said ID biometric signal to a Wiegand access panel controller;
• receiving an input signal at an input device from an electronic key and converting said input signal into an ID input signal;
• transmitting said ID input signal to said Wiegand access panel controller;
• and
• comparing said ID biometric signal to said ID input signal in said Wiegand access panel controller to control access to an accessed system.
