Abstract
Results of a bone mineral density (BMD) measurement and a total score obtained by combining score values pertaining to the applicability of pre-defined risk factors are combined into a value indicating whether a person is at risk of osteoporosis.

A method of tracing persons at risk of osteoporosis comprising the steps of
- performing a bone mineral density (BMD) measurement on said person thereby generating a BMD measure,
- obtaining score values pertaining to the applicability of pre-defined risk factors to said person,
- calculating a total score by means of said score values,
- combining said BMD measure and said total score into a value indicating whether said person is at risk of osteoporosis.
