An image processing apparatus that performs an output processing based on document data including a command to refer to an external resource, the image processing apparatus comprising:

• an output data processing unit that reads document data and performs an output data processing;
• an analysis unit that analyzes the document data;
• an external resource obtaining unit that performs a processing to obtain an external resource through a network according to an analysis result of the analysis unit;
• and
• a transmission unit that, when the external resource obtaining unit fails to obtain an external resource, notifies the output data processing unit of information indicating that the external resource obtaining unit fails to obtain the external resource,
• wherein, when the external resource obtaining unit notifies the output data processing unit of the information indicating that the external resource obtaining unit fails to obtain the external resource, the output data processing unit analyzes the document data inputted and generates output data without using the external resources.

An image processing apparatus that performs an output processing based on document data obtained through a network, the image processing apparatus comprising:

• an input unit that inputs document data from a computer;
• an output data processing unit that analyzes the inputted document data and performs an output data processing;
• an external resource obtaining unit that analyzes the inputted document data, and performs a processing to obtain an external resource;
• and
• a judging unit that judges as to whether or not a format of the external resource obtained by the external resource obtaining unit is printable by the image processing apparatus,
• wherein, when the judging unit judges that the format of the external resource is not printable by the image processing apparatus, the output data processing unit analyzes the inputted document data and generates output data without using the external resource.

An image processing method for an image processing apparatus that performs an output processing based on document data including a command to refer to an external resource, the image processing method comprising:

• an output data processing step that reads document data from a storage device and performs an output data processing;
• an analysis step that analyzes the document data;
• an external resource obtaining step that performs a processing to obtain an external resource through a network according to an analysis result of the analysis step;
• and
• a print processing setting step that is capable of making a setting not to output external resources,
• wherein, when the print processing setting step makes a setting not to output external resources, the output data processing step analyzes the document data inputted and generates output data without using the external resources.

An image processing method for an image processing apparatus equipped with an output data processing unit that reads document data including a command to refer to an external resource and performs an output data processing the image processing method comprising:

• an analysis step that analyzes the document data;
• an external resource obtaining step that performs a processing to obtain an external resource through a network according to an analysis result of the analysis step;
• and
• a transmission step that, when the external resource obtaining step fails to obtain an external resource, notifies the output data processing unit of information indicating that the external resource obtaining step fails to obtain the external resource,
• wherein, when the external resource obtaining step notifies the output data processing unit of the information indicating that the external resource obtaining step fails to obtain the external resource, the output data processing unit is controlled to analyze the document data inputted and generates output data without using the external resources.

An image processing method for an image processing apparatus that performs an output processing based on document data obtained through a network, the image processing method comprising:

• an input step that inputs document data from a computer;
• an output data processing step that analyzes the inputted document data and performs an output data processing;
• an external resource obtaining step that analyzes the inputted document data, and performs a processing to obtain an external resource;
• and
• a judging step that judges as to whether or not a format of the external resource obtained in the external resource obtaining step is printable by the image processing apparatus,
• wherein, when the judging step judges that the format of the external resource is not printable by the image processing apparatus, the output data processing step analyzes the inputted document data and generates output data without using the external resource.
