Abstract
An input device, which is capable of changing the appearance of a display, includes a body made up of a cover and a base, a cable receiver, and a cable coupled to the cable receiver. The input device has a first mode with a first portion of the cable having a first length external to the input device and a second portion of the cable wrapped around the cable receiver. The input device also has a second mode with the first portion of the cable having a second length external to the input device less than the first length.
Claims28
An input device capable of changing the appearance of a display, comprising:
- a body having a cover and a base;
- a cable;
- and
- a cable receiver for receiving the cable, wherein the input device has a first mode with a first portion of the cable having a first length external to the input device and a second portion of the cable wrapped around the cable receiver;
- and a second mode with the first portion of the cable having a second length external to the input device less than the first length.
A system, comprising:
- a computer;
- a display;
- and
- an input device, wherein the input device is capable of changing the appearance of a display and further comprises;
- a body having a cover and a base;
- a cable;
- and
- a cable receiver for receiving the cable, wherein the input device has a first mode with a first portion of the cable having a first length external to the input device and a second portion of the cable wrapped around the cable receiver;
- and a second mode with the first portion of the cable having a second length external to the input device less than the first length.
A method for storing a cable with a connector in a body housing a cable receiver with a connector receiver and the connector coupled to a computer, comprising the steps of:
- disconnecting the cable from a computer;
- wrapping the cable around the cable receiver;
- and
- inserting the connector into the connector receiver.
A method for storing a cable with a connector in a body comprising two sections which slidably engage with each other and house a cable receiver with a connector receiver, and the connector coupled to a computer, comprising the steps of:
- decoupling the cable from the computer;
- holding each section and pulling to slide the two sections apart until the cable receiver is accessible;
- wrapping the cable around the cable receiver;
- inserting the connector into the connector receiver, and
- holding each section and pushing to slide the two sections together until the cable receiver is not accessible.
A input device capable of changing the appearance of a display, comprising:
- a body for housing electrical components of the input device;
- a tracking device for generating signals based on movement of the input device, wherein the signals control the movement of the reference on the display screen;
- a switch which is activated to generate an input signal to display;
- a cable capable of transmitting input information to the display;
- a cable receiver for receiving the cable;
- a connector receiver formed in the base which accepts the connector;
- and
- a cover which circumscribes the base, wherein the input device has a first mode with a first portion of the cable having a first length external to the input device and a second portion of the cable wrapped around the cable receiver;
- and a second mode with the first portion of the cable having a second length external to the input device less than the first length, wherein the cable couples the input device to a computer, which is connected to a display.
