Image display device

An image display device comprising:

• a display portion which comprises a group of pixels of two or more types, each pixel including means for emitting light whose primary wavelength is specific to the type of the pixel;
• means for generating analog pixel signals to be input to the group of pixels from input digital pixel data, wherein said means for generating analog pixel signals comprises means for converting input digital pixel data into different output digital pixel data appropriate for each type of pixel comprising more bits than said input digital pixel data;
• and
• means for inputting the analog pixel signals to the group of pixels, each pixel including light emission driving means for driving said means for emitting light according to the analog pixel signal.

An image display device comprising:

• a display portion which comprises a group of pixels of two or more types, each pixel including means for emitting light whose primary wavelength is specific to the type of the pixel;
• means for generating analog pixel signals to be input to the group of pixels from input digital pixel data, wherein said means for generating analog pixel signals comprises means for converting input digital pixel data into output digital pixel data comprising more bits than said input digital pixel data;
• and
• means for inputting the analog pixel signals to the group of pixels, each pixel including light emission driving means for driving said means for emitting light according to the analog pixel signal, wherein said light emission driving means drives each of said means for emitting light with a drive current, selected from a group of different drive currents, appropriate for each type of pixel.

An image display device comprising:

• a display portion which comprises a group of pixels of two or more types, each pixel including means for emitting light whose primary wavelength is specific to the type of the pixel;
• means for generating analog pixel signals to be input to the group of pixels from input digital pixel data;
• and
• means for inputting the analog pixel signals to the group of pixels, each pixel including light emission driving means for driving said means for emitting light, according to the analog pixel signal input to the pixel,
• said light emission driving means being able to drive said means for emitting light for a period out of different periods appropriate for each type of pixel.

An image display device comprising:

• a display portion which comprises a group of pixels of two or more types, each pixel including means for emitting light whose primary wavelength is specific to the type of the pixel;
• image signal processing means for generating output digital pixel data;
• means for generating analog pixel signals to be input to the group of pixels from input digital pixel data;
• and
• means for inputting the analog pixel signals to the group of pixels, each pixel including light emission driving means for driving said means for emitting light, according to the analog pixel signal input to the pixel;
• wherein said image signal processing means converts the input digital pixel data into different output digital pixel data consisting of more bits than said input digital pixel data and appropriate for each type of pixel.
