The present invention relates to a method of fastening a tool in a tool holder, which tool (2) comprises a front side (6) shaped for use in cold forming of metal wire into nails, screws, etc., and which tool holder (4) comprises a recess (8) recess (8) shaped for receiving the tool. The invention further relates to a tool system comprising a tool and a tool holder, and further a tool and a tool holder, and a use of said tool and tool holder. One object of the present invention is to provide a method of fastening a tool in a tool holder and a system comprising a tool and a tool holder, such that compressive stresses are initially present in the tool, when the tool is subjected to the tensile stresses caused by the nail making process, in order to at least reduce the resulting tensile stresses. This is obtained by compressing two opposite and wedge-shaped sides (10, 12) of the tool against corresponding sides (14, 16) in the recess by applying and maintaining pressure on the back side (18) of the tool with fastening means (20).
A method of fastening a tool in a tool holder, which tool (2) comprises a front side (6) shaped for use in cold forming of metal wire into nails, screws, etc., and which tool holder (4) comprises a recess (8) shaped for receiving the tool (2), characterised in, that the tool (2) comprises two opposite sides (10, 12) forming a wedge-shape, which is narrowing towards the front side (6) of the tool, and that the recess (8) in the tool holder (4) comprises two corresponding sides (14, 16), which are placed substantially in the same wedge-shape, and that the tool (2) comprises a back side (18), and said tool (2) being fastened by placing the tool (2) in the recess (8) and displacing the tool (2) substantially in the direction of the front side (6), and compressing the two opposite sides (10, 12) of the tool against the corresponding sides (14, 16) of the recess by applying and maintaining pressure on the back side (18) of the tool with fastening means (20).
A tool system comprising a tool (2) and a tool holder (4), which tool comprises a front side (6) shaped for use in cold forming of metal wire into nails, screws, etc., and which tool holder (4) comprises a recess (8) shaped for receiving the tool and wherein the tool (2) is placed, characterised in, that the tool (2) comprises two opposite sides (10, 12) forming a wedge-shape, which is narrowing towards the front side (6) of the tool, and that the recess (8) in the tool holder comprises two corresponding sides (14, 16), which are placed substantially in the same wedge-shape, and that the tool comprises a back side (18), which back side is sloped relative to a bottom side (22) of the recess, and that a wedge (24) is placed with one side against the back side (18) and the opposite side against an end side (30) of the recess, which wedge (24) comprises a hole (26), through which hole a bolt (28) is connected to the tool holder (4), and that the tool (2) is fastened in the recess (8) by tightening the bolt (28) against the wedge (24).
A tool (2) for use in cold forming of metal wire into nails, screws, etc., which tool (2) comprises a front side (6) shaped for said use and an oppositely placed back side (18), characterised in, that the tool (2) comprises two opposite sides (10, 12) forming a wedge-shape, which is narrowing towards the front side (6) of the tool, and that the tool (2) is configured for fastening in a tool holder (4) comprising a recess (8) adapted for receiving the tool (2) and fastening means (20) for fastening the tool (2) by application and maintenance of pressure on the tool (2), in a way such that the two opposite sides (10, 12) may be pre-stressed in the recess (8).
A tool holder (4) adapted for receiving and fastening a wedge-shaped tool (2) for use in cold forming of metal wire into nails, screws, etc., which tool holder (4) comprises a recess (8) shaped for receiving the tool, and wherein the tool (2) is to be placed, characterised in, that the recess (8) in the tool holder comprises two sides (14, 16) forming a wedge-shape, which is narrowing towards an open end of the recess (8), and that the tool holder (4) comprises fastening means (20) configured for fastening the tool (2) by application and maintenance of pressure on the tool (2), in a way such that the tool (2) may be pre-stressed in the recess (8) against the sides (14, 16).
