Abstract
A method of communicating between a first and a second processor includes the first processor sending a datum over a common control bus, and the second processor receiving the datum from the common control bus.

A system comprising:
- a first processor and a second processor;
- a first bus for transmitting data between the first and second processors and a media access controller;
- and
- a control bus for controlling data transmissions on the first bus, the control bus also for communicating data between the first processor, the second processor and the media access controller.

A computer processor comprising:
- a first bus interface for transmitting data with a media access controller;
- a control bus interface for controlling communications over the first bus interface;
- a controller for controlling communications over the first bus interface using the control bus interface, the controller operable to transmit data over the control bus interface between at least one of the first processor, the second processor and the media access controller.
An article comprising a machine-readable medium including machine-executable instructions operative to a cause a machine to:
- send a datum over a first bus from a first processor to at least one of a second processor and a media access controller;
- and
- control data transmissions on the first bus using a control bus coupled to the first processor the second processor and the media access controller.
