Abstract
A removable cover for a container and a container having the removable cover. The cover may be adapted with an opening to enable wire to pass through the cover with the cover disposed on the container. The container may be adapted to be lifted by inserting a fork, or other lifting member, of a lifting device into the container. The container may comprise a fiber drum having one or more openings, or recesses, adapted to receive a fork of a lifting device. The container may be cylindrical. The container may be adapted to store wire. An adapter assembly may be disposed on the cover to protect the opening in the cover and to direct movement of the wire.

A wire container cover, comprising a cellulosic material and having an opening to enable wire to pass through the wire container cover.
The wire container cover as recited in claim 2, wherein the wire container cover comprises a second cover adapted to form a barrier across the opening.
A wire container cover, comprising:
- a cover adapted to be secured to a wire container housing to block access therein, wherein the cover is adapted to enable wire to pass from the wire container housing to an exterior location with the cover installed on the wire container housing.
A wire container, comprising:
- a housing adapted to house wire;
- and
- a removable cover adapted to block access to the housing when disposed thereon, wherein the cover is adapted to enable wire to pass from the housing to an exterior location with the cover installed on the housing.
A method of transporting wire, comprising the acts of:
- disposing the wire into a wire container;
- and
- installing a cover adapted to enable the wire to pass through the cover onto the wire container.
A method of manufacturing a container assembly, comprising the acts of:
- adapting a cover for a welding wire container to have an opening therein to enable welding wire to pass through the cover.
A wire container cover for a wire container housing, the wire container cover having an area adapted to facilitate the formation of an opening through the wire container cover by applying a force to the area.
The wire container cover as recited in claim 33, wherein the area is a punch-out area.
An adapter assembly for coupling a wire container to a welding machine guide system, comprising:
- a first member adapted to guide wire through a hole in a wire container;
- and
- a second member adapted to secure the first member to the wire container.
A container, comprising:
- a housing;
- and
- a cover for the housing, the cover being removable from the housing and having an opening to enable material disposed within the housing to pass through the cover,
- wherein the housing and the cover consist essentially of a cellulosic material.
A method of manufacturing a container assembly, comprising the acts of:
- adapting a cellulosic cover for a welding wire container to have an area adapted to be removed to form a hole in the cover by applying a punching force to the area.
