Abstract
Since cable external equipment has the advantage over radio external equipment, data is transferred through a cable when active cable external equipment exists, and data is automatically transferred to radio external equipment when active cable external equipment does not exist.
Claims20
Electronic equipment comprising:
- at least one cable interface;
- at least one radio interface;
- connection detection means for detecting that desired operable external equipment is connected to the cable interface;
- and
- selection means for selecting one of the cable interface and the radio interface,
- wherein said selection means is activated based on an output from said connection detection means.
3 more elements
Electronic equipment, comprising:
- at least one cable interface;
- at least one radio interface;
- connection detection means for detecting that desired operable external equipment is connected to said cable interface;
- presence detection means for detecting that desired operable external equipment exists in a communications range of said radio interface;
- and
- selection means for selecting one of said cable interface and said radio interface,
- wherein said cable interface is selected using said selection means depending on an output from said connection detection means, and said radio interface is selected using said selection means depending on an output from said presence detection means.
4 more elements
Electronic equipment, comprising:
- determination means for determining whether or not a cable of a cable interface is connected in response to a data transfer instruction;
- means for transferring data through a cable interface when said determination means determines that a cable of a cable interface is connected;
- and
- means for transferring data through a radio interface when said determination means determines that a cable of a cable interface is not connected.
1 more element
A data transfer method, comprising:
- a determining step of determining whether or not a cable of a cable interface is connected in response to a data transfer instruction;
- a step of transferring data through a cable interface when it is determined in said determining step that a cable of a cable interface is connected;
- and
- a step of transferring data through a radio interface when it is determined in said determining step that a cable of a cable interface is not connected.
1 more element
Electronic equipment, comprising:
- a first determination unit for determining in response to a print instruction whether or not equipment connected to a cable interface is a printer;
- a second determination unit for determining whether or not there is a printer communicable with a radio interface when it is determined by said first determination unit that equipment connected to a cable interface is not a printer;
- and
- an execution unit for performing a printing process when said first determination unit determines that equipment connected to a cable interface is a printer, or when said second determination unit determines that there is a printer communicable with a radio interface.
1 more element
A printing method, comprising:
- a first determining step of determining in response to a print instruction whether or not equipment connected to a cable interface is a printer;
- a second determining step of determining whether or not there is a printer communicable with a radio interface when it is determined in said first determining step that equipment connected to a cable interface is not a printer;
- and
- an executing step of performing a printing process when it is determined in said first determining step that equipment connected to a cable interface is a printer, or when it is determined in said second determining step that there is a printer communicable with a radio interface.
