Abstract
A rectangular sheet of flexible and resilient material such as plastic with notches at the midpoint of its sides. The size of the sheet and notches allow the insert to be placed into and located by a cell of a chain link fence. Notches fit around the wire crossovers of the chain link fence and locate the insert at the mid-plane of the fence. The corners of the insert extend into adjoining cells. Adjoining inserts overlap to provide complete visual privacy. The tile-like nature of the inserts allows great flexibility in arrangements and colors to provide visual privacy, decoration, words, logos, or signage.
Claims13
An insert for a chain link fence for decoration, signage, or visual privacy, placed in a diamond shaped cell opening of the chain link fence mesh formed by interwoven flattened helixes of wire comprising;
- a generally rectangular shaped flat sheet of material with notches located at about the midpoint of each edge of said sheet;
- said sheet has about the width of the width of said cell opening;
- said sheet has about the height of the height of a said cell opening;
- said notches are sized to fit around wire crossovers at each corner of said cell opening;
- said wire crossovers are where chain link fence wires cross over and touch each other;
- said sheet thickness and material properties are such to allow bending to place said sheet into said cell opening with said notches placed around said wire crossovers without permanent deformation of said sheet.
An insert for a wire fence for decoration, signage, or visual privacy, placed in an opening of a wire fence comprising;
- a polygon shaped flat sheet with notches in three edges of said sheet;
- said fence comprises a plurality of wires, interwoven, twisted, welded, or joined together forming a repetitive mesh of openings, wherein a wire crossover is where said wires cross or touch each other and each opening has a said wire crossover at each corner of said opening;
- said sides and said notches are located such that said notches fit around three of the four said wire crossovers at corners of said opening when said sheet is generally flat;
- said sheet thickness and material properties are such to allow bending to place said sheet into said opening with said notches placed around said wire crossovers without permanent deformation of said sheet.
