Orbital spinning dancing light toy with connectors for mounting light emitting elements

An electrical connector for terminating a cord having a plurality of insulated conductors, and for making electrical contact with said conductors therein comprising:

• A) a dielectric body having an aperture that substantially encloses an end of said cord
• B) means to latch said cord securely into said aperture
• C) a plurality of electrically conductive terminals positioned within said body and able to be pressed into said aperture for the purpose of piercing the insulation of and making electrical engagement with the associated conductors of the cord, said electrically conductive terminals extending a predetermined distance outside of the body;
• and
• whereby said body and said electrically conductive terminals may be further affixed to an electrical circuit or device to provide mechanical and electrical connection between said cord and said electrical circuit or device.

A connector providing a removable electrical coupling directly to the leads of an electrical element having a pair of parallel leads where one of said leads is a long lead which is a predetermined length longer than the other short lead, comprising:

• A) a dielectric body having a top surface with two apertures extending downwardly into the top surface to accept the leads of said electrical element where at least one of said apertures is shorter than the other aperture by the predetermined length, said shorter aperture being intended for receiving only the short lead, the other aperture intended for receiving only the long lead, and the top of the dielectric body surface having a step between the apertures;
• B) means to electrically couple said leads of said electrical element to an electrical circuit when said leads are inserted into said apertures;
• and
• wherein the step offsets the top surface by a predetermined distance such that if said long lead is inserted into the aperture intended to accept only said short lead, said short lead cannot enter the aperture intended for said long lead, and cannot electrically couple with said electrical circuit.

A spinning toy method, for use by a user having a pair of hands, in creating a light display, using a toy having a hub, having a first side, a second side, a circumference, and an axis, the toy further having a tether extending laterally from the first and second sides, and light emitting elements connected to the hub, comprising the steps of:

• A) suspending the hub horizontally between the hands by holding the tether with the hands;
• B) winding the tether by manipulating the hands;
• C) rotating the hub by allowing the tether to unwind;
• providing a light display by illuminating the light emitting elements and moving the light emitting elements substantially around the axis.
