Method for generating a fax cover page

A system for sending a facsimile transmission, comprising:

• a means for sending a first fax job corresponding to a fax document to a fax controller;
• a means for sending a second fax job corresponding to a fax cover sheet to the fax controller;
• a means for receiving the first fax job and second fax job at the fax controller;
• a means for generating processed images of the first fax job;
• a means for generating processed images of the second fax job;
• a means for combining the generated processed images of first fax job and second fax job into a combined fax job such that the processed images of the second fax job precede the processed images of the first fax job;
• and
• a means for sending the combined fax job to a recipient.

A system for sending a facsimile transmission in a network environment, the system comprising:

• a computer communicatively coupled to a data transport network comprising a fax driver on the computer for sending a first fax job corresponding to a fax document and second fax job corresponding to a fax cover sheet to a fax controller;
• a digital imaging device communicatively coupled to a data transport network, the digital imaging device comprising a fax controller, the fax controller comprising:
• an image processing module for generating images of the first and second fax jobs,
• a means for combining the generated images of first fax job and second fax job into a combined fax job such that the processed images of the second fax job precede the processed images of the first fax job, and
• a fax module for sending the combined fax job to a recipient.
