Abstract
The present invention is directed to the applications of a novel cytokine, named THANK, for TNF homologue that activates apoptosis, NF-κB and c-jun N-terminal kinase. Such applications include using THANK inhibitors to inhibit the activation of NF-κB and to treat a pathological condition caused by the activation of NF-κB. Also provided is a method of inhibiting growth of a wide variety of tumor cells by administering THANK protein.
Claims6
A method of inhibiting the activation of nuclear factor-κB in cells, comprising the step of treating said cells with a THANK inhibitor.
A method for treating a pathological condition caused by the activation of nuclear factor-κB in an individual, comprising the step of administering to said individual a therapeutically effective amount of a THANK inhibitor.
A method of inhibiting growth of tumor cells, comprising the step of administering to said cells a therapeutically effective amount of THANK protein.
