A method for protecting at least one keratinous fiber comprising applying to the at least one keratinous fiber a composition comprising at least one silicone and at least one film forming polymer,
- wherein said at least one silicone and at least one film forming polymer are present in a combined amount effective to protect said at least one keratinous fiber from compositions, compounds, and atoms.
A method for protecting hair comprising
- applying to the hair a composition comprising at least one silicone and at least one film forming polymer,
- wherein said at least one silicone and at least one film forming polymer are present in a combined amount effective to protect said hair from compositions, compounds, and atoms.

A multicomponent kit for protecting at least one keratinous fiber comprising at least two compartments,
- wherein a first compartment comprises a first composition comprising at least one silicone, and
