Claims23
A process for the preparation of foamed thermoplastic polyurethanes characterized in that the foaming of the thermoplastic polyurethane is carried out in the presence of thermally expandable microspheres and a plasticizer, wherein the amount of plasticizer is more than 20% by weight of the thermoplastic polyurethane.
A foamed thermoplastic polyurethane obtained by reacting a difunctional isocyanate composition with at least one difunctional polyhydroxyl compound in the presence of thermally expandable microspheres and a plasticizer, wherein the amount of plasticizer is more than 20% by weight of the thermoplastic polyurethane and the thermoplastic polyurethane has a density of not more than 700 kg/m3.
A reaction system comprising:
- a) thermoplastic polyurethane,
- b) thermally expandable microspheres, and
- c) a plasticizer
- wherein the amount of the plasticizer is more than 20% by weight of the thermoplastic polyurethane.
