Abstract
The invention relates to absorbents for water and aqueous liquids, which absorbents are based on water-swellable, yet water-insoluble polymers wherein cyclodextrin or cyclodextrin derivatives and zeolites high in silicon have been incorporated tonically, covalently and/or as a result of mechanical inclusion.
Claims9
An absorbent, crosslinked polymer for water or aqueous body fluids, based on optionally partially neutralized, monoethylenically unsaturated monomers bearing acid groups, wherein the polymer has cyclodextrin or cyclodextrin derivatives and zeolites high in silicon with a silicon oxide/aluminium oxide ratio of >10 at least partially bound covalently, ionically bound thereto or incorporated therein.
