Abstract
A die of a coating apparatus for applying a coating solution includes down- and upstream blocks in a feeding direction of a web, which respectively have a first lip and a second lip. A lip land of the first lip is shorter than a lip land of the second lip in the feeding direction so as to satisfy a predetermined condition. In assembling the coating apparatus, bottoms of down- and upstream blocks are fixed to a fixer with bolts. Between the fixer and the downstream block, a plate member is provided such that the first lip land protrudes from the second lip land.
Claims48
A method for applying a coating solution on a web, comprising:
- feeding said web continuously;
- and
- discharging said coating solution from a slot of a die to said web, said slot being formed between a first lip and a second lip, said first lip being disposed downstream from said second lip in a feeding direction of said web, and an end of said first lip having a first lip land which is flat and confronted to said web, said first lip land satisfying a condition,
- 30 μm≦L1≦100 μm,
- wherein L1 is a length of the first lip land in said feeding direction.
A method for applying a coating solution on a web, comprising:
- using a die which has a slot formed between a first lip and a second lip for discharging said coating solution on said web, said first lip being disposed downstream from said second lip in a feeding direction of said web;
- providing a regulation member for regulating a coating width of said coating solution;
- disposing said die such that a first gap between said first lip and said web may be smaller than a second gap between said second lip and said web;
- setting a third gap between said regulation member and said web so as to be more than said first gap and less than said second gap.
A method for applying a coating solution on a web, comprising:
- feeding said web continuously;
- and
- discharging said coating solution from a slot of a die to said web, said slot being formed between a first block and a second block which are contacted to each other, ends of said first and second blocks having a first lip land and a second lip land which are flat and confronted to said web, a step being formed between said first lip land and said second lip land.
A coating apparatus for applying a coating solution on a web, comprising
- a back-up roller for feeding said web, said web contacting to a part of a periphery of said back-up roll;
- a die for discharging said coating solution to a part of said web supported by a back-up roller;
- a slot formed in said die, said coating solution flowing in said slot;
- a first lip and a second lip which are disposed at an end of said die, said slot being formed between said first lip and said second lip, said first lip being disposed downstream from said second lip in a feeding direction of said web;
- a first lip land which is formed at an end of said first lip to be flat, said lip land being confronted to said web, said lip land satisfying a condition,
- 30 μm≦L1≦100 μm,
- wherein L1 is a length of said first lip land in said feeding direction.
A coating apparatus for applying a coating solution on a web, comprising:
- a back-up roller for feeding said web, said web contacting to a part of a periphery of said back-up roll;
- a die for discharging said coating solution to a part of said web supported by a back-up roller;
- a slot formed in said die, said coating solution flowing in said slot;
- a first lip and a second lip which are disposed at an end of said die, said slot being formed between said first lip and said second lip, said first lip being disposed downstream from said second lip in a feeding direction of said web;
- a first lip land which is formed at an end of said first lip to be flat, and which is confronted to said web;
- a second lip land which is flat and formed at an end of said second lip;
- a step formed between said first lip land and said second lip land such that a first gap G1 between said first lip land and said web is smaller than a second gap G2 between said second lip land and said web;
- a regulation member disposed in both sides of said slot for regulating a coating width of said coating solution, a third gap G3 between said regulation member and said web being more than said first gap G1 and less than said second gap G2.
A die for applying a coating solution on a web, comprising:
- a slot formed in said die, said coating solution flowing in said slot;
- a first lip and a second lip through which said coating solution passes, said slot being formed between said first and second lips, said first lip being disposed downstream from said second lip in a feeding direction of said web;
- a first lip land which is formed at an end of said first lip to be flat, and which is confronted to said web;
- a second lip land which is flat and formed at an end of said second lip;
- a step formed between said first lip land and said second lip land such that a first gap G1 between said first lip land and said web is smaller than a second gap G2 between said second lip land and said web.
A method for assembling a die for coating a coating solution on a web, said die having a first block and a second block which are separate, said first and second blocks having a first lip land and a second lip land which are flat and confronted to said web, a step formed between said first lip land and said second lip land, said method comprising:
- mounting backs of said first block and said second block on said standard surface to keep said step;
- and
- combining said first block and said second block integrally.
