Abstract
A radiation-emitting structural element with a multi-layer structure, which includes an active layer with at least one radiation-generating surface, and a radiation-permeable window with a main surface, on which the multi-layer structure is placed.
Claims24
A radiation-emitting structural element with a multi-layer structure (3), which comprises an active layer (4) with at least one radiation-generating surface, and a radiation-permeable window (1) with a main surface (2), on which the multi-layer structure (3) is placed,
- characterized in that
- the window (1) has a lateral surface (7) with a first partial surface (8) arranged perpendicular to the main surface (2), and a second, curved or stepped partial surface (9) proceeding at an angle to the main surface (2), wherein the first partial surface (8) forms an edge (12) with the main surface (2) and merges into the second partial surface (9) at a distance d from the main surface (2),
- and that the radiation-generating surface has a lateral border, which is arranged at a distance 1 from the edge (12) formed by the first partial surface (8) and the main surface (2), to which the following applies:
- 1≧d/tan β, where β=arccos n1/n2,
- where n1 refers to the refractive index of the multi-layer structure (3) and n2 to the refractive index of the window (1), and the refractive index n1 of the multi-layer structure (3) is smaller than the refractive index n2 of the window (1).
Radiation-emitting structural element according to one of claims 1 to 10 [sic],
- characterized in that
- a contact surface (6) is provided on the multi-layer structure (3).
