Capillary array unit electrophoretic device comprising the same

A capillary array unit comprising:

• multiple capillaries to allow migration of test samples, and
• a window unit further comprising the first and second holding substrates for sandwiching at least some of said capillaries mutually to arrange them in a substantially plane surface, wherein a detection window for transmitting detected light emitted in the direction normal to said plane surface from said test samples is formed on said first holding substrate;
• said detection window formed on the first holding substrate being characterized by comprising:
• multiple light transmission areas provided to correspond to capillaries to transmit said detected light, and
• multiple light cut-off areas provided adjacent to said light transmission area to cut off said detected light.

A capillary array electrophoresis apparatus comprising:

• multiple capillaries serving as migrating lanes for test samples,
• an excitation optical system for applying excitation light to said capillaries, and
• a light receiving optical system for detecting fluorescent light emitted from samples in said capillaries;
• said capillary array electrophoresis apparatus further characterized in that
• at least some of said capillaries are arranged in a substantially plane surface, and a window unit is provided to hold said capillaries arranged in a plane surface and to comprise a detection window for transmitting detected light emitted from the portion of said test samples arranged in a plane surface by irradiation of said excitation light;
• wherein said detection window further comprises:
• multiple light transmission areas provided to correspond to capillaries to transmit said fluorescent light, and
• multiple light cut-off areas provided adjacent to said light transmission areas.

A capillary array electrophoresis apparatus comprising:

• multiple capillaries serving as migrating lanes for test samples,
• an excitation optical system for applying excitation light to said capillaries, and
• a light receiving optical system for detecting fluorescent light emitted from samples in said capillaries;
• said capillary array electrophoresis apparatus further characterized in that
• a window unit is provided to comprise the first and second holding substrates for sandwiching at least some of said capillaries mutually to arrange them in a substantially plane surface, wherein said first holding substrate contains a detection window for transmitting fluorescent light emitted from said test samples by irradiation of said excitation light;
• wherein said detection window formed on said first holding substrate further comprises:
• multiple light transmission areas provided to correspond to capillaries to transmit said fluorescent light, and
• light cut-off areas provided between said light transmission areas to cut off said fluorescent light.
