Abstract
An inbred carrot line, designated S-D813B, is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of inbred carrot line S-D813B, to the plants of inbred carrot line S-D813B and to methods for producing a carrot plant, either inbred or hybrid, by crossing the inbred line S-D813B with itself or another carrot line. The invention further relates to methods for producing a carrot plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic plants produced by that method and to methods for producing other inbred carrot lines derived from the inbred S-D813B.
Claims19
Seed of an inbred carrot variety designated S-D813B, representative seed having been deposited under ATCC Accession No.
A method for producing a carrot variety S-D813B-derived carrot plant, comprising:
- a) crossing carrot variety S-D813B, representative samples of said variety having been deposited under ATCC accession number, with a second carrot plant to yield progeny carrot seed;
- and
- b) growing said progeny carrot seed, under plant growth conditions, to yield said carrot variety S-D813B-derived carrot plant.
- c) crossing said carrot variety S-D813B-derived carrot plant with itself or another carrot plant to yield additional carrot variety S-D813B-derived progeny carrot seed;
- d) growing said progeny carrot seed of step (c) under plant growth conditions, to yield additional carrot variety S-D813B-derived carrot plants;
- and e) repeating the crossing and growing steps of (c) and (d) from 0 to 7 times to generate further carrot variety S-D813B-derived carrot plants.
