Abstract
The invention provides methods for screening of chemical substances with potential pharmacological activity using nematode worms such as Caenorhabditis elegans, Specifically, the invention relates to methods adapted for high-throughput screening which are performed in a multi-well plate format.
Claims39
A method for determining the effect of a chemical substance on pharynx pumping rate of a nematode worm by means of an assay comprising detecting changes in the pharynx pumping rate of said nematode worm on contact with a chemical substance, wherein the changes in the pharynx pumping rate are determined using non-visual detection means.
