Abstract
A terminal operated at a switching facility has at least one indicating element which indicates operating modes of another terminal allocated to the indicating element. The other terminal is operated at another switching facility. Calls to the other terminal may be picked up by operating a function element, e.g., pressing a key, associated with the indicating element that indicates the operating modes of the other terminal, when an incoming call to the other terminal is indicated.
Claims20
A method for communication between terminals having at least one indicating element, comprising:
- sending to a first switching facility, coupled to a first terminal, at least one operating mode message about an operating mode of a second terminal coupled to a second switching facility and allocated to a first indicating element on the first terminal;
- and
- driving the first indicating element by the first switching facility based on the at least one operating mode message.
A switching facility coupled to at least one terminal and to at least one other switching facility coupled to at least one other terminal, comprising:
- at least one line unit via which a first terminal operated at said switching facility can be reached, the first terminal having at least one indicating element to indicate an operating mode of a second terminal operated at another switching facility;
- and
- a control unit, coupled to said at least one line unit and the at least one other switching facility, to receive operating mode messages indicating operations involving the second terminal and to drive the at least one indicating element using signaling messages generated based on the operating mode messages.
A communication system, comprising:
- a plurality of terminals, each having at least one indicating element;
- a first switching facility coupled to a first terminal, to drive the at least one indicating element on the first terminal;
- and
- a second switching facility, coupled to a second terminal, to send operating mode messages to the first switching facility indicating operations involving the second terminal, said first switching facility driving a corresponding indicating element on the first terminal allocated to the second terminal based on the operating mode messages received from said second switching facility.
At least one computer readable medium storing at least one program for controlling at least one processor to perform a method for communication between terminals having at least one indicating element, said method comprising:
- sending to a first switching facility, coupled to a first terminal, at least one operating mode message about an operating mode of a second terminal coupled to a second switching facility and allocated to a first indicating element on the first terminal;
- and
- driving the first indicating element by the first switching facility based on the at least one operating mode message.
