Abstract
Disclosed herein is vehicle to vehicle distance control (an adaptive cruise control) device that, when a headway distance between a subject vehicle and a forward vehicle approaches a predetermined value or less, controls a vehicle speed of the subject vehicle so as to keep the headway distance at a predetermined value, wherein, when the device becomes unable to detect the forward vehicle, a constant speed control is provided for the subject vehicle using the subject vehicle speed before the device becomes unable to detect the forward vehicle or a corrected vehicle speed until an accelerator is operated, and using a set vehicle speed preset by a driver after the accelerator is operated.
Claims12
Vehicle to vehicle distance control (an adaptive cruise control) device that, when a headway distance between a subject vehicle and a forward vehicle approaches a predetermined value or less, controls a vehicle speed of the subject vehicle so as to keep the headway distance at a predetermined value,
- wherein, when the device becomes unable to detect the forward vehicle, a constant speed control is provided for the subject vehicle using the subject vehicle speed before the device becomes unable to detect the forward vehicle or a corrected vehicle speed until an accelerator is operated, and using a set vehicle speed preset by a driver after the accelerator is operated.
Vehicle to vehicle distance control (an adaptive cruise control) device that, when a headway distance between a subject vehicle and a forward vehicle approaches a predetermined value or less during a constant speed control, adjusts a power drive output or actuates a brake of the subject vehicle so that the headway distance becomes the predetermined value,
- wherein, when the device becomes unable to detect the forward vehicle or the forward vehicle deviates from a position forward in relation to the subject vehicle or a lane in which the subject vehicle runs, a constant speed control is provided using the subject vehicle speed immediately before the device becomes unable to detect the forward vehicle or a corrected vehicle speed or the subject vehicle speed immediately before the forward vehicle deviates or a corrected vehicle speed until an acceleration switch for constant speed control is pressed, and the device shifts to a constant speed control that is provided using a set vehicle speed preset by a driver after the acceleration switch is pressed.
Vehicle to vehicle distance control (an adaptive cruise control) device that, when a headway distance between a subject vehicle and a forward vehicle approaches a predetermined value or less during a constant speed control, adjusts a power drive output or actuates a brake of the subject vehicle so that the headway distance becomes the predetermined value, wherein, when the forward vehicle deviates from a position forward in relation to the subject vehicle or a lane in which the subject vehicle runs, a constant speed control is provided using the subject vehicle speed before the forward vehicle deviates or a corrected vehicle speed until an accelerator is depressed, and the device shifts to a constant speed control that is provided using a set vehicle speed preset by a driver after the acceleration switch is pressed.
A vehicle that is capable of detecting a forward vehicle that runs ahead of a subject vehicle with no other vehicles therebetween and controlling a headway distance so as to follow the forward vehicle,
- wherein, even when the vehicle becomes unable to detect the forward vehicle, a control is provided so as to maintain a subject vehicle speed, at which the subject vehicle runs to follow the forward vehicle, until a driver operates an acceleration means, and the subject vehicle speed is controlled using a set vehicle speed preset by the driver after the driver has operated the acceleration means.
