Abstract
A reduced set of transport format combinations is signalled to a subscriber station which has established a link to a second radio communication system in a second signalling channel of the second radio communication system. The transport format indicator is then selected from the reduced set of transport format combinations and used to initiate a link transfer to the first signalling channel of a first radio communication system. A full set of transport format combinations is subsequently signalled to the subscriber station in the first signalling channel.

Method of controlling an intersystem handover between two radio communication systems (RS1, RS2), wherein
- a reduced set of transport format combinations (TFCS) is signaled, to a subscriber station (UE) which sets up or has set up a connection to a second radio communication system (RS2), in a second dedicated signaling channel (SIG>CH2) or radio channel (BCCH) of the second radio communication system (RS2),
- a transport format indicator (TFCI), by means of which a handover to a first signaling channel (SIG.CH1) and/or a signaling channel and/or data channel of the first radio communication system (RS1) is initiated, is selected from the reduced set of transport format combinations (TFCS), and
- a complete set of transport format combinations (TFCS) is signaled to the subscriber station (UE) in the first signaling channel (SIG.CH1).
Method according to a foregoing claim, wherein the first radio communication system (RS1) is embodied as a UMTS mobile radio system and the second radio communication system (RS2) is embodied as a GSM mobile radio system.
Method according to a foregoing claim, in which a SDCCM (Stand-Alone Dedicated Control Channel) or a radio control channel BCCH is used as the second signaling channel (SIG.CH2) of the second radio communication system (RS2).
Communication system subscriber station (UE) for performing a method according to a foregoing claim, with a memory region in which data of the reduced set of transport format combinations (TFCS) is memorized.
Communication system network station (BTS;

- BSC;
- RNC) for performing a method according to a foregoing claim, with a memory region in which data of the reduced set of transport format combinations (TFCS) is memorized.
